Reporting to: Maintenance Section Head
Plant: Pretoria Operation


The successful candidate will ensure the effective leadership and utilization of artisans, continuous improvement and projects and adhere to the Health and safety Act, work according to SGB-SMIT POWER MATLA quality standards, follow procedures and instructions. The incumbent will manage the plant’s preventative, predictive and breakdown maintenance to ensure that uptime of equipment is available to production. He/she will manage schedules issued and measure lost time due to unavailability of equipment as a result of breakdown/failure.

  • Grade 12;
  • N6 or National Diploma in Electrical Engineering (B.Tech: Electrical an advantage);
  • Electrical background (heavy & small current) in heavy machinery industry environment;
  • Minimum of 5 years’ exposure on factory preventative maintenance environment with a minimum of 3 years in a maintenance workshop supervisory position;
  • Computer literate..
