Department: Maintenance
Reporting to: Maintenance Section Head
Plant: Pretoria Operation


The successful candidate will ensure the effective utilization of artisans, continuous improvement and projects and adhere to the Health and Safety Act, work according to SGB-SMIT POWER MATLA quality standards, follow procedures and instructions. The incumbent will manage the plant’s preventative and breakdown maintenance to ensure that uptime of equipment is available to production. He/she will manage schedules issued and measure lost time due to unavailability of equipment as a result of breakdown/failure.

  • Grade 12 or N3;
  • Millwright qualification with Red Seal;
  • Mechanical and electrical background (heavy & small current) in a heavy industry environment;
  • Minimum of 5 years’ exposure to factory preventative maintenance environments with a minimum of 3 years in a maintenance workshop supervisory position;
  • Computer literate.
