A career opportunity exists for a suitably qualified Shipping Co-Ordinator based at the Distribution Transformers Plant in Epping, Cape Town.
Duties & Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
- Shipping – Responsible for obtaining quotes from shipping lines and road transport service providers.
- Business Processes – Responsible for generating Delivery Notes on SAP as well as drawing up Commercial Invoices and Packing Lists for shipping.
- Customer service – Responsible for informing customers when their products are ready for collection/shipping and regularly updating them.
- Administration – Performs administrative duties for the Sales and Marketing department.
- Export Documentation – Responsible for ensuring all documents required for shipping are accurate, compliant, and complete.
Qualifications & Experience
- Grade 12/Matric or equivalent.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience working with freight forwarders, shipping lines, export documentation and administration.
- Computer skills knowledge on the MS Office package.
- Training on export documents and requirements.
- Shipping experience to Africa, Europe and North America will be advantageous.
- Knowledge of payment instruments (Letters of Credit).
- Experience in dealing with service providers in the shipping and local transport industry.
