Overview

SGB-SMIT POWER MATLA is looking for a Calibration Technician. The candidate will be in charge for keeping an eye on and tracking the performance of the company’s equipment and making adjustments as required. This includes calibrating and adjusting equipment according to the protocol.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Grade 12/N3.
  • Higher Certificate in Metrology or equivalent.
  • Quality Management or Instrumentation related qualification.
  • 2 Years’ experience in Quality or Instrumentation (experience in Metrology will be an added advantage).
  • At least 5 years’ experience in the DCLF calibration laboratory

Core Competencies

  • Ensure that all the tools, equipment or machines conform to ISO minimum requirements.
  • Ensure that all equipment meet customer requirements and prevent product failure.
  • Communicate with external suppliers to calibrate electrical and mechanical instruments beyond the scope.
  • Run tests to ensure that equipment is functioning at peak capacity.
  • Research about new parts and machinery for improved operations.
  • Obtain accreditation for the DCLF calibration laboratory.

  • MS Office proficiency.
  • Good communications skill.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Deadline driven.
  • Ability to perform under pressure.
  • The successful candidate must be prepared to work overtime as and when required.
