SGB-SMIT POWER MATLA is seeking a Junior MIB designer in the Mechanical Design department in their operation in Pretoria.

Job specifications:

The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to, conducting mechanical and schematic designs for marshalling kiosks. Conduct mechanical and control circuit design by establishing kiosk size, interfaces with transformer cabling from customer specification and electrical design criteria. Perform pre-ordering of long lead-time materials and other components required by design. Advise and instruct mechanical tender designer on layouts and costing based on customer requirements for tender purposes. The candidate will also be responsible for assisting production departments to resolve specific control circuit design related issues.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Grade 12/N3;
  • Relevant BSc Eng/BTech/BSc Mechanical/Electrical Engineering Degree;
  • Minimum of 1-2 years‘ experience in a similar role or within a manufacturing environment;
  • Knowledge of CAD systems preferably Bentry Microstation or EPlan;
  • Should be fully proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint).
